Abstract:

The multibeam interference theory in homogeneous media was generalized for the case of random-inhomogeneous media. The connection of statistically averaged interference of the beam fields, forming two-dimensional periodic structure, with two-dimensional spectrum of the atmospheric optical transmission function was determined. Analytical expressions describing the interference pictures distortions and their contrast at different parameters of one-dimensional periodic beams structure were obtained. The multibeam interference dependence on these parameters was analyzed and its characteristic peculiarities due to the atmospheric turbulence were indicated. The main conclusions were confirmed by the results of calculations and by the data obtained experimentally.
