Abstract:

Airborne polarization lidars for dense optical media sounding developed at the Institute of Atmospheric Optics and the Special Scientific Instrument Design Office "Optika" SB USSR Academy of Sciences are reported. Technical Specifications are given. A two wavelength multifunctional lidar "Svetozar-З" for remote analysis of oriented anisotropic atmospheric particles and multiple scattering measurements is discussed in detail. Also presented is a specialized lidar "Makrel-2" designed for aqueous medium sounding from aboard an aircraft. The experimental study results are given.
