Abstract:

Measurements on the weakly-focused laser beam intensity fluctuations over a 130 m atmospheric path for different aperture diameters are reported. The fluctuation variance is shown to decrease much more rapidly as the aperture diameter is increased. The decrease is found to be faster in stowfall than in the turbulent atmosphere.
