Abstract:

Dispersion relations were used to derive atmospheric wave spectra generated by a solar terminator for real temperature profiles up to the 100 km height. The major mechanisms responsible for the disturbance field formation were ascertained. The calculation data were compared with the lidar ratio fluctuation spectra obtained from the lidar observations of the atmosphere in the 10-35 km altitude range. The peculiarities of the vertical temperature and wind velocity profiles were found to have a filtering effect on the wave disturbance spectra.
