Abstract:

A specialized experimental setup is described for investigation of vibration spectra of thermally stable volatile inorganic hydrids of Group IV–VI elements in the liquid phase and in liquefied gas solutions. Methods are proposed for measuring the concentration and integral absorption coefficients of the solutes. The results of investigation of vibration spectra of volatile inorganic hydrids (SiH4, GeH4, NH3, PH3, AsH3, H2S, and H2Se) in the liquid phase and in cryogenic solutions are presented. Basic mechanisms of intermolecular interactions in these liquids are discussed based on the data on the strength, frequency, and profiles of vibrational bands.
