Abstract:

It is shown that if there are forces in the atmosphere that may cause orientation, at least in part, of an ensemble of non-spherical aerosol particles, the direction of these forces action can be found from measurements of the backscattering phase matrices (BSPM). Moreover, some parameter is being determined that characterize the degree of the orienting action of the force field on the aerosol ensemble.
