Abstract:

Calculations of altitude profiles of refractive index of sulfuric acid stratospheric aerosol at 308, 355 and 532 nm based on monthly average climatology data on the temperature and water vapor concentration are fulfilled for 40-70°N latitude zone and 12-32 km altitude range. Approximation relations connecting variations of refractive indices related at the wavelengths are presented. It is shown that at calculation of altitude profiles of refractive index the effect of water vapor variations relative to monthly average profiles may be neglected.
