Abstract:

In the present work, results of mathematical simulation of the field experiment on determination of image/background contrast in the UV wavelength range are considered. The study is aimed at an analysis of the influence of the aerosol component of the atmosphere on this characteristic of the image quality. Field measurements performed at the IAO SB RAS are used for experimental data. Mathematical simulation is performed by the Monte Carlo method. The model of the atmosphere is assigned using an optical model generator based on LOWTRAN-7. A comparison of the results of mathematical simulation with measurements demonstrates practically complete coincidence of the dependences of variations of the normalized object/background contrast versus the optical path length between the object and the optical system.
