Abstract:

A solution of the problem of the optical beam transfer through a bounded medium is presented. Analytical formulas are derived for different experimental configurations with the light source and receiver being located at the boundaries of the medium, with the source being contained within the scattering volume while the receiver being located at its boundary or conversly, and with both the source and receiver being contained within the scattering volume. Theoretical results obtained in the paper agree well with experimental data thereby demonstrating the applicability of the exponential dependence of the radiation attenuation in the disperse media
