Abstract:

We analyze here measurement results on the probability density distribution of a signal in a narrow divergent laser beam in a snowfall at different diameters of the receiver. The distribution shape depends on the receiver size, optical thickness, and maximum size of the snow particles. The experimental distributions in the majority cases can be described by G and normal distributions.
