Abstract:

A suite of programs MIRART (Modular Infrared Atmospheric Radiance and Transmission) for high resolution infrared atmospheric radiative transfer calculations has been developed with emphasis on efficient and reliable numerical algorithms and a modular approach appropriate for simulation and/or retrieval in a variety of applications. The code has been carefully tested in the framework of two extensive inter-comparisons. Molecular weighting functions are implemented by means of automatic differentiation.
