The results of drag force measurements by the EDL method in air for lycopodium particles of 28-mkm diameter with the Knudsen numbers ranging from 0.1 to 3.0 are presented. The EDL design with parallel plate electrodes used in the experiments is described, as well as the measurement method based on recording the microparticle leaving the stability curve. The results obtained are compared with the molecular-kinetic theory for the effect under study, and their good agreement in the used range of Knudsen numbers is found at the tangential momentum accommodation coefficient from 0.8 to 1.0. The problems concerning the Brownian motion of particles at low gas pressures and the influence of a surface particle charge on the drag force are considered.
