Abstract:

The results of the analysis of a possibility of determination of a partially coherent laser beam axis misalignment with the pointing direction, caused by the initial aberration of the beam wave front, based on the beam backscattering, are discussed in the paper. It is shown that distribution of mean intensity of the backscattered beam radiation in a focal plane of the receiving telescope allows one to determine the beam axis misalignment with the pointing direction within accuracy of a few microradian in dependence on laser beam power and parameters of the photodetector.
