Abstract:

The gas discharge is investigated, induced in the air-vapor region and allowing us to obtain plasma objects with a lifetime of 1/30 to 1/5 s. The birth, formation, and decay of the spherical plazmoid with a diameter about 10-12 cm is investigated in detail with a digital photographic system. It was fixed that the increasing of humidity leads to the increasing lifetime of the plasmoid. Current-voltage characteristic of the process was measured and the dependence of the current and voltage on the time. The analysis of experimental data was conducted and, based on it, a thermodynamical hypothesis of the plazmoid was created, which explaned its spherical shape.
