Abstract:

The mechanism of Na dayglow emission in the upper atmosphere (z ≥ 80km) is studied. The Na is formed as a result of photodissociation of man-made NaCl vapor. It is shown that for relative NaCl concentration of the order of 10-4 this mechanism gives intense emission in the resonance lines of Na in the disturbed region of space.
