Abstract:

The atmospheric correction of remotely sensed data is defined as a process of the current atmospheric optical parameters restoration with consequential inverting of optical transmittance operator, thus turning the underlying surface reflectance into the upward radiance. The ocean and terrain images' atmospheric correction methods are proposed to be classified on the basis of numerical methods as well as angular, spectral, variational etc. The general description of every class is given. The best worked-out methods are observed separately. The atmospheric optical qualities para- metirization problem is discussed. In conclusion the general outlines of atmospheric correction algorithm are presented.
