Abstract:

Compensation for distortions of a light beam in the atmosphere by means of a PC-mirror has been examined theoretically and experimentally. Similarity ratios in laboratory modeling of the correction of atmospheric distortions of laser radiation by means of a PC-MBSS mirror have been derived. The effect of Raman scattering on the quality of reconstruction of the corrected beam in the turbulent atmosphere has been studied. It is shown that the efficiency of PC-correction may be significantly limited by errors in the phase conjugation (PC) achieved by a real mirror and by nonlinear phenomena attendant to the propagation of the conjugate wave in the atmosphere.
