The processes of ionization and of luminescence of a thick spherically symmetric barium cloud irradiated by sunlight are numerically simulated to study the dynamics of such luminescence in the atomic line of Ba at l = 5535 A and its radial distribution across an observable disk. Computations indicate resonantly scattered sunlight to be strongly anisotropic, the temporal dependence of that line intensity agreeing quite well with experimental data.
