Abstract:

The CdGeAs2 monocrystals of satisfactory optical quality were made. The absorption coefficient in the region of maximum transparence was 0.2-0.3 cm-1 at nitrogen temperatures. Second harmonic generators with CdGeAs2 for different types of CO2 lasers were investigated. The energy conversion efficiency of nanosecond pulses exceeded 3% for a 3.4 mm long crystal. Frequency doublers can be used for measurements of the atmospheric parameters.
