Abstract:

The low pressure molecular lasers supplied with nonthreshold parametric frequency converters with nonlinear crystals ZnGeP2, CdGeAs2 and Tl3AsSe3 are suggested for application as sources of coherent radiation for solving the problems of atmospheric spectroscopy. The efficiency of the developed frequency doublers and combination frequency generators was from some tenths percent to tens percent versus the pumping laser parameters. The results of evaluation of possibilities of sounding CO, NO, N2O, CO2 and OCS are presented. A highly automated gas analyzer using a CO2 laser radiation frequency doubler with Tl3AsSe3 and combination frequency generators with ZnGeP2 is described. The paper presents the results of the field measurements of carbon monoxide concentrations.
