Abstract:

Third-order aberrations inherent in a multipass matrix three-objective system were studied theoretically. An expression was derived that relates in space the position of a point at the input slit with that at the output slit as a function of the system design characteristics and the intermediate image matrix parameters. Conditions of focusing the image onto the output slit and of astigmatism compensation were specified. Relations that allow determination of the field curvature and distortion were obtained.
