Abstract:

Water vapour line shift coefficients due to N2 and atmospheric air in the 200- 600°K range were calculated. The coefficients are shown to be a sensitive function of temperature. In a number of cases the temperature rise may cause the shift to change its sign. The temperature dependence may be different for transitions with the same rotational quantum numbers of upper and lower states in different vibrational bands. Seasonal altitude variations of Н2О line shifts in the vicinity of 0.69 and 1.06mm are discussed.
