A computing technique for calculating characteristics of solar and long-wave radiation propagating through the atmosphere is stated. It is based on the solution of the transfer equation for the two-stream approximation taking a detailed account of the droplet and crystal phase microstructure in clouds. An approximated but fairly exact modification of the transfer equation was obtained. Simple analytic expressions for scattering and absorption cross-sections by polydisperse droplet, crystal and aerosol system were derived. A time-saving algorithm allowing for the use of the proposed method in the numerical evolution models was developed.
