Abstract:

Based on the inversion technique as applied to the optical scattering by dispersion media, a body of mathematics is derived to solve the problem of approximating aerosol optical characteristics for different spectral intervals. The efficiency of the proposed procedures in reconstructing the aerosol properties over the entire spectral region of interest from a discrete set of experimental measurements is illustrated by examples of the relevant nephelometric data processing and interpretation.
