Abstract:

The relative errors due to the polarization lidar component transformation by an AD converter are examined. Analytic expressions for the observation errors are derived. The lidar depolarization measurement errors are calculated for laser sounding of dense clouds, underlying and sea surfaces. Representative experimental data on the polarization detection and ranging of flat targets are reported.
