Abstract:

An efficient procedure for the motion-blurred image reconstruction using an impulse response function representation in terms of a 2-D recursive filter with a linear prediction is discussed. Image restoration on the basis of a given impulse response function is in the spatial domain and is generally treated as a result of a 2-D nonrecursive filter operation. A single run of a 1-D nonrecursive second-order filter through the image field is shown to be sufficient to remove an image axial smear due to the mutual object and detector motion.
