A two-color adaptive optical system is studied wherein the feedback loop is closed via the atmosphere by means of a reference source whose operating wavelength is different from the basic frequency. The variance of the eikonal difference for two spherical (or plane) waves with different optical frequencies is calculated for a number of atmospheric turbulence conditions.
