Certain properties of pulse responses inherent in linear image transmission systems are estimated on the basis of the solution to the transfer equation using the Monte-Carlo method. The effect of the scattering characteristics of turbid media on the wings of the point spread function is examined. A one-parameter approximation for the pulse responses in the range of "large" argument values is proposed. An experimental procedure for measuring the point spread function and a way to reduce the cut-off error due to the incomplete determination of pulse responses are discussed.
