Abstract:

The iodine isotopes fluorescence excited by a Ne-Ne laser, in the presence of air and a number of other gases, has been studied. The resulting data on the collision-induced fluorescence quenching and pressure broadening of the iodine absorption lines can be used to monitor the molecular iodine traces in gases.
