The emissivity and angular distributions of thermal radiation of upper boundary of different forms of clouds are measured from aircraft. The val-ues of backscattering coefficients and cloud optical depth are investigated also. The radiation temperature in 11.1 micron range and solar radiation, reflected by cloud top in 0.76 micron, are used to define cloud top heights. The water and ice components of clouds are evaluated from the infrared and microwave satellite measurements.
