The potential of estimation of the structure characteristic of turbulent fluctuations of the air refractive index based on the signal of atmospheric molecular and aerosol backscattering of a laser radiation registered by the monostatic transmitter-receiver is investigated numerically. The technique of detection of the clear-air turbulence zones by an airborne lidar has been proposed.
