Abstract:

Compact RF pumped waveguide pulse-periodic CO2 laser emitted on the 10P(16) line with automatic control system were designed for increasing the accuracy of SF6 concentration measurements in air using the photo-acoustic detector. Non-selective cavity was used in the laser. Cavity length was tuned by PZT. Sealed-off SF6-filled photo-acoustic cell was used as a reference point for identification of 10P(16) laser emission line. An algorithm of search and confinement of laser emission line was developed. Influence of various factors on parameters of laser spectra was defined. The measurement error of SF6 concentration in air is less than 3% when using the developed laser stabilization algorithm. Capability of using this algorithm for CO2 laser stabilization on another emission lines is discussed, in particular for ethylene or acetone impurity detection.
