Abstract:

The results of pair measurements of aerosol optical depth (AOD) and water vapor content of the atmosphere in the Middle Urals, carried out during summer and autumn of 2010 at an urban (Ekaterinburg) and a background (65 km away) monitoring stations, are presented. In addition, characteristics of atmospheric aerosol - Angstrom parameters α and β, fine and coarse AOD components are considered. Practically, AOD value doesn't depend on the urban coarse aerosol component. Statistically significant difference of the AOD values for the wavelengths ranging from 0.34 to 1.02 µm for the Angstrom selectivity parameter and fine component of AOD, measured at the two sites, was found. This indicates the additional contribution of urban surface aerosol to the AOD value.
