Abstract:

A photonic jet represents a specific spatially-localized region in near field of optical radiation scattering by a micron-size particle. The spatial shape and basic characteristics of photonic jets depende on internal structure and size of microparticles. Qualitative classification of morphological types of photonic jets formed in vicinity of shadow surface of micron size dielectric spherical particles are presented. The classification is based on analysis of their spatial shape with taking into consideration of dimensional and power characteristics of the jets. Particles with homogeneous and radially-inhomogeneous type of changing the refractive index are investigated.
