Experimental researches of cloud base heights (CBH) by a passive monostatic cailometer were carried out. The ceilometer experimental model consists of two television cameras MVK-16 with common sight lines. Cameras lens focal lengths were chosen for measurement of height from 50 to 30000 m. Obtained different scale images of the chosen cloudiness fragment entered a personal computer for processing. CHB measurement algorithm is described. The factors influencing the accuracy of measurements are specified and the obtained results of measurements are presented.
