Abstract:

We carried out combined data comparison of mass concentrations of submicron aerosol and soot in near-ground air layer as in points with the high anthropogenic load: Beijing, Moscow, Alma-Ata, and Ryazan`, as well as in small resort towns: Kislovodsk, Pyatigorsk, Yessentuki, Gelendzhik. Furthermore, we examined measurements in background conditions: Xinglong mountain observatory, located at a distance of 150 km to the north-east from the Beijing and Zvenigorod Scientific Station of IAP RAS (60 km to the west from the center of Moscow). On-route Measurements in the region of Caucasus Mineral Waters are also presented. All measurements were carried out by the same optical methods, which permits one to summarize submitted data and bring to light common regularity and differences. The magnitude of relative content of soot in aerosol particles allows one to distinguish contribution of local and regional sources of air pollution, to discern the aerosol heterogeneous transformation processes.
