Abstract:

The physical model of phase explosion of optically transparent water droplet irradiated by intensive laser radiation of femtosecond duration is presented. The specific regime of droplet explosion caused by optical breakdown of a liquid in internal areas of a micron-sized particle is theoretically investigated. The results of numerical calculations of the plasma dynamics in a droplet produced by various intensity of laser radiation, and also estimations of position and the effective size of breakdown areas in a particle are presented.
