Abstract:

The possibility in principle is demonstrated of using SLODAR (SLOpes Detection And Ranging) technique for positioning optical elements. The numerical simulation results are presented, which allow the cross correlation function between local wavefront slopes of two beacons to be used for positioning single or multiple phase screens. The qualitative and quantitative agreement between the simulation and experimental results is shown. The technique modification is discussed providing for positioning «thick» optical elements (e.g., lenses).
