Abstract:

Brief review of the priority data series on the problem of nonlinear atmospheric optics, carried out by authors as a result of long-term experimental and theoretical investigations of interaction between high-power laser radiation of different spectral content and pulse durations with gas and aerosol atmospheric components, is presented. The paper includes the results of the study of energy extinction of СО2 laser microsecond pulses along the near-ground atmospheric paths at different optical meteorologic conditions, laser radiation propagation in the middle atmosphere taking into account spontaneous Raman scattering (SRS), SRS peculiarities in droplets, and interaction between femtosecond laser pulses with gas and aerosol media.
