Abstract:

Reported here is a theoretical study on the structure and evolution of the transformation and scattering matrix elements for a polarized beam propagating through horizontally oriented axisymmetric particles with different degrees of order and angles of preferred orientation with respect to the reference plane. The possibility to determine the suspended species orientation and composition from the relevant matrix data is discussed.
